Take a night off and have pizza instead while helping our school earn money!
Our next Papa's Pizza night is Wednesday January 4th.
This is a very simple way to help your school earn money while having a fun easy dinner with your friends or family.

KID'S CONTACT BOOK
The PTA is compiling the contact information of every family willing to provide it in order to create a kid's contact book!
This book will allow parents to contact other student's parents if, for example, their child would like to invite a friend from school to their birthday party or if they came home with another student's coat.
Help us create this book by filling out the contact form (CLICK HERE) and returning it to the school as soon as possible. Participation is voluntary and you can asked to be removed from the book at any time.

Officer Introductions
April Uffens – President
I am
excited to be your president once again. I have been a member of
TES PTA for approximately 9 years with this being my 4th as your
president. I will continue to publish the online newsletter,
run the Entertainment Book fundraiser and facilitate our monthly
meetings. My main responsibility is to lead our PTA towards specific
goals chosen by our members. My husband Eric and I have a son Carson
(third grader) who loves playing TPWF and a daughter Elesha who will be a
Junior at THS. My goal this year is to create even more committees
to accomplish greater goals and encourage more parent evolvement. I
am pleased to work with a motivated board yet another year. Allow me to
introduce them to you.
Brenda
Royce - Vice President
My roots
are firmly planted in Thurston! Along with my two children, 4th grader Calvin
and 1st grader Evelyn, I also went to this school as did my dad and my
grandfather! My deep connection to this community grows stronger as my children
get older. I work full-time at a medical office in the RiverBend Comlex. This
year my husband, Michael, and I will be working hard on the new Watch D.O.G.S.
program. I will be in charge of the Safeway Rewards program. I am creating a
'contact book' for the students/parents so we can all stay connected! I will be
implementing a Welcoming Group of parents from each grade to help new families
feel better informed when they join our school later in the year. This
committee will also help the new kinder parents get a grasp on all the fun
events, meetings, and fundraisers our PTA offers throughout the year. Join us
at our PTA meetings to hear more!
Hello, name is
Toni Webb, I have been involved in TES PTA for 6 years and this is my 3rd year
as VP. This year I plan to work on and organize the Otis Spunkmeyer Cookie
Dough fundraiser in November, our three PTA Holiday Parties (Fall Harvest,
Valentine's, Spring Party), Splash & Skate World Night's, Papa's Pizza
Nights, Popcorn Fridays, and Family Fun Night. My son, Seth, will be in 5th
grade this year and my son, Zane, will be in 2nd grade this year. I'm looking
forward to another fun and exciting year with TES PTA!
Jade
Neckels – Treasurer
My name is
Jade Neckels and this will be my third year as Treasurer. My son, Devon, is in
3rd grade this year and my daughter, Skylar, is a Kinder. I am currently
working towards my business degree while trying to start my own jewelry
business, Birds of a Feather. In addition to my Treasurer duties, this year I
will be managing the PTA website and organizing both the Holiday Bazaar and the
See's Candy fundraiser. I'm excited to be once again a part of such a wonderful
group of caring parents and educators!
Sherry
Cantlen – Secretary
My name is
Sherry Cantlen and this is my third year as PTA Secretary. Along with my
secretarial duties I am also in charge of TES apparel. This year my son TJ is a

Thurston Elementary is proud to participate
in the largest child advocacy association
in the nation, the Parent Teacher Association.
The PTA association reminds our country of
its obligations to children and provided parents
and families with a powerful voice to speak
out on behalf of every child while providing
the best tools for parents to help their children
be successful students.
National PTA does not act alone. Working in
cooperation with many national education,
health, safety, and child advocacy groups and
federal agencies, National PTA collaborates on
projects that benefit children and that bring
valuable resources to its members.
