The Thurston Elementary PTA is committed to enriching the educational experience of every student.   Through the efforts of our dedicated parents, teachers, and faculty, the PTA raises thousands of dollars each year that fund field trips, community projects, reading programs, assemblies and a variety of other events, projects and programs.

 Officer Introductions

President - April Uffens
Hello everyone!  My name is April Uffens and this will be my second year as your PTA President.  I will be mainly working on the online newsletter each month, family & business memberships, Entertainment Book fundraiser and Splash & NAAGS organizer.  My husband Eric and I have a son Carson (first grader) who loves to play Thurston Football and our daughter Elesha (freshman) practically lives on her horse.  I am very excited this year to be working with our other elected officers.  Each are extremely motivated and committed to or PTA efforts.  Please allow me to introduce these lovely ladies to you...

Vice President - Toni Webb

My name is Toni Webb, I just finished up last year as PTA Treasurer, and will begin this year as your PTA Vice President.  As VP, I plan to work on and organize the Sally Foster/Cookie Dough fundraiser, our three PTA Holiday Parties (fall, winter, spring), TES Cheetah apparel and Popcorn Fridays.  My son, Seth, will be in 3rd grade this year and my son, Zane, will enter as a Kindergartner.  I'm very excited to get this year started, I know it is going to be fantastic in our beautiful new school.

Treasurer - Jade Neckels

My name is Jade Neckels and I have two children: my six year old, Devon, is entering first grade this year and my three year old, Skylar, will be starting Preschool at the Child Development Center.  This will be my first year as Treasurer of the PTA and I come to the position with several years of experience as the Accounting and IT Manager for a manufacturing company in Eugene.  In addition to my Treasurer duties I will also be managing the PTA's website.

Secretary - Sherry Cantlen

I have lived in the Thurston area for the last 10 years and currently have a second grader at TES and a preschooler at home.  After managing a business for 10 years, I decided to become a student again myself and currently attend LCC.

Thurston Elementary is proud to participate
in the largest child advocacy association
in the nation, the Parent Teacher Association.
The PTA association reminds our country of
its obligations to children and provided parents
and families with a powerful voice to speak
out on behalf of every child while providing
the best tools for parents to help their children
be successful students.

National PTA does not act alone. Working in
cooperation with many national education,
health, safety, and child advocacy groups and
federal agencies, National PTA collaborates on
projects that benefit children and that bring
valuable resources to its members.
